What we have learnt and received from the Lord Jesus Christ, let us commit the same to our children. We should teach our children to fear God and to obey the commandments of God. This is something that is pleasing to God. He recommended Abraham because he was going to command his children to follow the ways of God. When we teach our children the ways of God, God is pleased with such. God loves to see us follow his commandments. He wants to have a generation of people who obey and do his will.
The children that we are raising must grow up to have God in their hearts. They need to know God and understand the things that are pleasing to God. We have been trained by our parents to honor God. They commanded us to follow the teachings in the church. We were always brought to learn the doctrines of God in Bible study sessions. We attended worship services with our parents. Those were some of the ways they ensured that we were cropped into the fold of God’s people.
As parents, let us follow the footsteps of Abraham and others who taught their children the ways of God. Let us train our children by teaching them the Word of God. We should make them understand those things that we should do as the children of God and what we should not do. Let us take the time and train our children in the ways of God. The Bible says that the way we train our children is the way they will go.
