I took a break from pulling weeds today and went to the river looking for pottery and fossils. I did not find any fossils, but found some Indian pottery. I thought the water would be low enough to get out to the old shoreline where the best fossils used to be, but it was still high.
If the storm that is to form offshore gets close to us, it will make the water rise up even higher.
This is not a boat wake, it is a herd of dolphins chasing bait.
You can see a couple of them in the bottom right of the photo. I was not fast enough to take the picture when two of them came all the way out of the water. At first, I thought the big areas of bait on top were finger mullet, but I never saw them shower, so now I think they were after glass minnows.
I walked north and found a small stretch of shoreline.
I walked it and found some small pieces of pottery, a pair of gloves, and a cork.
The sky was looking like rain and I figured I had better load up and leave.
It was a lot easier getting my cart down the hill than getting back up it. I had to stop a few times to rest, it's Florida, so the (hill) was not that big, but I struggled.
I found some glass bottles for the new bottle tree I am going to make.
I do not know what kind of beer this is, the label was missing.
The cap is on it, but it is half gone, I will take the cap off and pour it out. I like the green bottle, it will give the bottle tree a little color.
These are some other things I found.
I am sorry for not writing more. My hand has been hurting more, it now has another issue besides the cartilage being gone. The wrist knuckle on it is bigger than the one on my left hand, and now I have a steady pain in it, and it is uncomfortable typing. I am thinking it might be arthritis that has made it rise up.
