This is my post for #freewriters 2926 prompt stake through his art hosted by @mariannewest

My husband was tired of the old lawnmower taking up space in his shed. It still ran, but the mower deck rusted away. The battery was dead, and it had one flat tire. He hooked it to the truck with a rope, and I drove the truck, and he rode the mower. We hauled it to the scrapyard, and they gave us nineteen dollars for it. As we were leaving the scrapyard, I saw it hanging in the air by a huge claw, then it dropped, and the claw started crushing it, picking it up, dropping it again, then it ripped its hood off and tossed it aside. My thought was, dang man, don't take your aggression out on the poor mower. I am glad the rest was out of my sight. My mom gave us that mower.

My sister sent me this photo with what her 8 year old granddaughter said when she brought her this seashell. She said, "Look, Grandma, it's Florida." She has an eye for things like this, and one day someone will take a stake through his art (her art), and she will be an artist known by the world. She loves cats and can draw them perfectly (for an 8 year old). I believe she has a gift.

Sometimes when I am on the beach, I will see a rock that I like, especially when it is a hag stone. I am going to ask my sister's granddaughter what she thinks it looks like. I told my husband it looked to me like a rabbit, and he said, what is with the lump on its back? I told him it is the other ear that is laid back.
photos are mine or my sisters

There's a community of folks who race lawn mowers. It's like a drag race, and can be as simple as tweaking the transmission pulleys to as elaborate as a total rebuild of the machine. Mower decks not required.
