This is my post for #freewriters 2935 prompt day trip to hell hosted by @mariannewest

I started my Christmas shopping today. I told my sister I found a freeze dryer on Walmart's Black Friday sale and wanted to get it for one of my daughters. We go to Walmart and can not find any freeze dryers. We track down an employee and he checks his phone for the one I want. He tells me they do not carry it, and I had to buy it online. I told him, the one I saw said it was 144 dollars, but on Black Friday sale, it is 84 dollars, that was only an in store price, it said if I bought it online I would have to pay the 144. I said you are telling me you do not carry it, and the only way I can buy it is online. He said yes, that is correct. I told him that it is not right of Walmart to do something like that. He said I could check with other stores and see if they have one.

Earlier, my sister sent me a sale ad for a liquidation sale in Melbourne. I told her we could go to it, and while we are in Melbourne, we can check a Walmart there for the freeze dryer.

We went to the liquidation sale first. I now have the little kids taken care of for Christmas. I got my oldest grandson a pair of shorts, my teen granddaughter a face steamer, and second oldest grandson a yard game. I almost bought an inflatable canoe for my husband, but I was not sure he could fish out of it, they wanted 75 dollars for it.

After that, we went on the hunt for a Walmart. I swore there was one on 192, but I was wrong, so I told my sister it had to be on Plam Bay road. She asked her phone where the closest Walmart was at. It took us almost to Eue Galley, which was the opposite direction of home, Palm Bay would have been better, but off we went. I would not say it was a day trip to hell, but I did not know trying to find a Walmart would be so hard.

There are three Walmarts within 15 miles of where I am at the moment. It's scary. I ventured into town (after the worst of the day black Friday rush) because an unexpected minor family emergency involving car issues interrupted my plans of staying as far away as possible.

Wow, 3 within 15 miles, that is a lot of Walmarts. Ours are one for every 20 to 30 miles. I planned to stay away, but when I saw the price of the freeze dryer, I had to go. In our local store, I did not see anything that said Black Friday sale.
