This is my post for #freewriters 3003 prompt badly made gown hosted by mariannewest
I do not own many dresses, and when one of our daughters was to get married, she wanted to take me shopping and buy a dress that would match her wedding colors, which was tan and white. All we could find that fit me was a black lace dress with a tan underlay. We thought the tan would show through in the photos, it didn't.

All of her bridesmaids wore a tan dress, and the groom and his men were in tan. Her Father had a tan suit, and her soon to be mother wore a tan dress, and her father in law wore a dark blue suit with a light blue shirt. We were the two oddballs, but his blue was better than my black.

I was embarrassed because it looked like I wore black to her wedding. Everyone matched, but me. For the photos, I tried to hide behind her half sister. I felt as if I was wearing a badly made gown. Of course, she never said anything to me about it, but I knew how she felt.

Even today, when I look at the pictures, the way I look breaks my heart. I feel like I ruined her wedding pictures.
