We did more than 2000kms driving on a recent short holiday to visit some family. In the last 60 odd kilometres, a truck in front of us kicked up stone and chipped the wind screen. So close to home, I suppose it can happen any time. I can't remember if it is covered on my insurance, I think I went ultra cheap and opted out.
So I thought I would have a try of the home repair kit from the local auto store. It might buy me some more time since the damage is outside the driver vision. It did not get rid of it completely, but it definitely helped and does not look as bad.
