It was a scorching hot day outside, but I'm still here. People spend too much of their time worrying about what everyone else is doing. As soon as they see another person's picture in a brand new car or eating out at some fancy restaurant for instance, their heart starts beating like they lost a race to the finish line, that's how we feel. If we think about why someone did something different than us, we're setting ourselves up for failure. I own one green plastic chair that's got this little crack in one side, if I sit down wrong on that chair, it'll hurt me. If this is the state of my life why do you think I have time to think about what someone else is doing.
If you fill your own head with your work and personal growth, you won't have room for anything else. I want to keep myself busy with my own life, not busy in the sense of running after an event, but busy with all the thoughts in my head. I feel a little bad for the minutes I've given away to people who don't even know my name. It feels painful to me because I could have done something better with all the time I've wasted.
Growth takes room to grow. When you're established in your goals, people surrounding you don't really matter to you anymore. They'll do whatever they want to do. My goal is to be so full of "myself" that I don't need to look outside the walls I built for myself.
