Greetings!
One thing that I have got to know in life is that God created people in different ways with a whole lot of different characters which means, if you think you are the most perfect person in the whole wide world, then you will see another person who is without blemish. Also, if you think you are the most imperfect person on earth, then you must be joking as there's someone out there who's worse than you.
The reason for this lengthy prologue was because of my encounter with different people in my journey so far on the planet earth. I have seen some who are good and the other ones who are bad and the thing that I have noticed in all is that there's no perfect being.
Recently I met a guy at my place of primary assignment and the guy's name is Paul. The first day I met this guy, he asked me a question and the question baffled me a lot. The question he asked me was,
“Guy, hope you're not a religious type?” “ I am not too religious, but I'm religious,” I replied.
Immediately I answered his question, his countenance changed and I was wondering what might have happened as I believed that there's no crime in being religious. However, I asked him why he was so curious and concerned about my religious status and it's then he told me and said,
“Guy, it's not as if I'm that bad, but the thing is that, I wouldn't want anyone to judge my activities. I have once had a relationship with a religious bigot, who would not see anything good in whatever I do, but only to be condemned by him.”
When I heard him saying this, I thought within myself that condemning people is not good and and I responded to all he had said, I told him saying,
“Paul, you don't need to worry yourself about what others are saying about you, especially if you are convinced that what you are doing is right. Afterall, God has warned everyone of us not to be a judge in other people's cases or matters.”
After I had spoken this to him, he felt elated and he embraced me, thanking me for helping his emotions and clearing his mind from all sorts of guilt brought to him by condemnations.
However, after a few weeks of our friendship, I realised who Paul was and the reason he was concerned about my religious status.
The first thing I noticed in him is that he tells lies a lot, whenever he is asked about things, he would always tell lies, even when there's no need for him to tell lies.
I also noticed that he was a womanizer. He loves anything under the skirt. Maybe I wouldn't have had issues with his character if we had not been staying together in the same room, but because of our staying together in the same room, I couldn't bear his excesses, there was a time I warned him to desist from sleeping with ladies both young and married but he would not listen to me.
There's this married woman who used to come around to have things with Paul. Whenever she comes around, I used to excuse myself from the room so that we can both enjoy each other, afterall, I have warned Paul to let go of the woman, but he would not listen to me.
The most embarrassing thing about this woman was that she was a married woman and the most frightening thing was that she was married to the chief priest of the land.
Although they have always been enjoying each other without any issue, on a particular day, something unexpected happened and a noise came from our room. On getting to the room, I met Paul convulsing and also at the scene, the woman was seeing and crying cursing herself as she was afraid of what would happen next if Paul died and her husband, the chief priest, got to know about what had happened.
We were all there without any of us knowing the next step to take, however something struck my mind and income up with an idea and the idea was that we should consult the chief priest of the land who happened to be the husband of the adulterer.
On getting to the woman, the man told us that he was aware of what had happened and that he was the one that planned the attack after he had been briefed of his wife's infidelity act. When I heard this, I was surprised and we all begged the man to forgive our friend Paul.
The man said he would not forgive any of them, but with our persistent begging he forgave and healed Paul, but sent out her wife from his home as he ended their relationship just because of the event that unfolded.
Ever since then, Paul had become a new person and his lifestyle now is more than that of a born again as he now used his experience to teach others what is good and that of which is bad.
