Weight lifting workout and walking to work.

in Actifityesterday

It is summer in Seattle area and the temperature today was over eighty degrees Fahrenheit. A bit too hot to workout inside my garage, unless earlier in the morning. I am not an early excerciser despite my wife calling me an early bird. Things must be relative when it comes to early birds, I am definitely not go to the gym at six in the morning kind of guy.

So it is kind of nice that I can just walk down six floors in our office building and go into the air-conditioned gym. Today I did just that around the lunch time and did a set of pull ups and push-ups followed up by a weight lifting machine based workout.

I have been also walking between the sets to keep up the heart rate and fat burning while my muscles got some time to recover. That lunch time hour of working out plus walking to and from the train and it all adds up to over twenty thousand steps.

I also talked to a fellow solution architect while working out at the gym. He pointed out that we are the only people from our entire floor who are working out at the office gym. In general we were the only two people in the gym the entire lunch hour. I wonder if people just don't want to workout even if they have a free access to the gym?

The images in this post are from our many trips to Whidbey Island. It is a beautiful ferry ride, although ferry in summer sometimes is so backed up that you have to wait for two or even three ferry bots before you can load. And that can result in a three or even four hour wait.

We were caught in a couple hours of waiting before and it is not fun. So now we check ferry waiting times before each trip. There is an alternative path to the island though it is about a hundred mile drive on I-5 and then through Anacortes and through the Deception Pass, so that also takes a couple hours...

Today is the first day of a new season in Splinterlands and I am starting in a Modern Champion after finishing in the Champion One last season. The competition is probably going to be brutal as everyone in the top one hundred is going to be reset to the same rating.

The sentiment in Splinterlands and in crypto in general is not very positive, though Bitcoin and alts were up today. I have a small buy order for BSOL which is a Solana ETF in my retirement account, but the price keeps bouncing right above by buy order level. Perhaps I should just give up and raise the price? But then again as soon as I buy it is going to drop way lower 😀

A few days ago you might have noticed some problems with Actifit and other app that use Keychain login. There was also an issue with top Hive witness nodes missing quite a few blocks, so apparently there was a bug that got discovered.

Now top witnesses are slowly rolling out an update from version 1.28.3 to 1.28.7. The 1.28.3 was very stable since the hardfork 28. But now I should start on upgrade, apparently this version is going to require a full replay unless I figure out how to make Gandalf's snapshot work with my setup.

We finally got rid of a bit of the heat, but now the wildfire smoke from Canada is covering the whole area, so there are air quality alerts and it's hard to do anything outside.

No smoke here yet... but I am sure it is coming...
