
Guess what is the machine in the picture above? No, it's not a portable trashcan, it is a security robot at the Microsoft Campus. These things are everywhere at Microsoft.
Also, Microsoft Campus has grown into a town of it's own inside Redmond, Washington. When I first came to Washington state one of my first jobs was at MSNBC which was on a Microsoft Campus.

The year was 1999 and I thought that the Microsoft Campus was large at the time. Well, it has really grown since then. Over fifty two thousand people work at Microsoft Campus in Redmond today!
Microsoft these days is like a big factory, gone are the days when you work at Microsoft for five years and are set for life financially. Still anything around Microsoft commands a significant premium.

Even the condos that are being built in Woodinville, Washington are surprisingly expensive because they are only about twenty minutes away from Microsoft.
Yesterday we went and tried out a new restaurant Bin 47 and today I decided to look up what are those condos selling for? I was quite surprised that in our down real estate market where Woodinville real estate is down fifteen percent from a year ago these condos start at one point five million dollars! And they go up to three million dollars for a condo in a remote suburb that used to be thought of as real boonies just a few years ago...
