[Writing Contest] Finish the Tale. Story #44 - Little Tom's dream

in Ecency Support8 days ago

On Christmas Eve, the snow outside my window began to glow softly, as if lit from within.

Greetings dear Hiveans. This is a prompt, if you wish to be a part of this, kindly click this link

After hearing a nice tale from grandma, 9 year old little Tom, went into deep sleep. As he was having his winter vacations, he came to his maternal grandparents home., where he was caressed a lot and also spoilt a lot.

It was Christmas eve and the house was filled with relatives making little Tom happier every moment. It was almost sunset and the the ladies were busy cooking a grand feast. Most children were in the age group of 6 to 10, busy with their part of naughtiness or watching cartoons.

To keep them occupied granny decided to tell a story. Their eyes enlightened on hearing this good news. They gathered around their dear granny who was getting prepared to narrate a story.

The story goes this way. Far away, their was a place always surrounded with snow amongst the Christmas trees. The weather seemed cold. When the world came to know about this, it became a tourist destination and lot of tourist visited the place.

In each visit they placed a candle somewhere near the snow. Years passed, people started to realise the ice too glowed, and the glow never faded, most preferably at night.

The children were much excited for the continuation. But as it was time for bed, all were off to sleep. Little Tom saw a pile of ice outside his window and expected the same to happen.

Wondering some magic would happen, he was off to sleep, only to make up in the middle of light , when a spark striked his little face. He was so happy to see the snow lit with different with different colours.

The next morning he woke up with a terrific jerk, only to realise it was just a dream. He prayed Almighty that he see the same dream of colourfully lit snow every night, at his window. And was over excited waiting for the next night.

This is the short story, in response to the prompt. The photo is from the photogallery of my Samsung Galaxy, captured by me a week ago.

Thankyou dear frienda for your time and patience.
