“Water, Water, Everywhere!”😳
“Level 2 Evacuation -Get Set!”
Silvertop, has been watching the USGS website, monitoring the water level of the Nooksack river in Everson all morning……
Liz was working today down in town.
The plan was, if I saw the the Nooksack hit Flood stage, I would immediately give her a call, warning her to leave to come home!😮
As Silvertop walked loops through the house to gain “Indoor” steps, an emergent alert, went off on my iPhone!😳
That was official enough…….😬
I texted Liz…….
“I think it’s going over the roads soon, they may shut down your path home, I think you should leave NOW!”
Several years ago, the towns of Sumas, and Everson flooded very bad. The “Fix” the County came up with, was to put gates on the roads that were prone to flooding. I was expecting the city to close and lock these gates sometime today, probably very soon!
“Hello”……………🥰
Just before 1 o’clock Liz walked in the door!😍🤗
Our home sits safely high up in the foothills……….
Liz was home!😍
Silvertop won’t be hiking, or driving to Starbucks today Lol!😇
The Silvertop’s will be indoors, and sometimes that’s the best way to spend a stormy day!😍
My heart goes out to the families down in the valley, may they all stay safe!
A customer just told Liz the river is now over the levy, and the rain continues…….
If the levy breaks, strange as it sounds, the lowest elevation path for the raging flood waters, is North onward into Canada!
Hopefully everyone stays safe, and is ready to leave if needed …………….
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊
