Borden Flats Light
Good Morning and have a good Day
Today I will share a few shots of the Borden Flats Lighthouse taken one morning when I was in Fall River, I have seen it way in the distance from Heritage State park, but I drove around trying to get a better view point of it that morning, and found a spot near a small marina where I got these shots
Borden Flats Light is a historic 1881 sparkplug lighthouse located in Massachusetts' Taunton River (near Fall River), known for its cast-iron, conical design on a caisson pier. It is an active U.S. Coast Guard aid to navigation and a NOAA weather station. The lighthouse is privately owned, offering unique overnight stays via a Lighthome Keepers program.
And how much would that cost you may wonder, well I did so I checked it out and for this year it is 99% booked but I did find availability in October and found out to stay on there it costs $649 a night, and as much as I think it would be so cool to stay in a lighthouse for a night thats a bit out of my budget
and you may also wonder what is a spark plug light house, I guessed it was because it kind of looks like a spark plug, but I looked it up
A sparkplug lighthouse (or caisson lighthouse) is a type of offshore lighthouse, often nicknamed for its resemblance to an automobile spark plug, featuring a cylindrical, cast-iron structure resting on a concrete or metal foundation. These lighthouses were designed in the late 19th century to be durable, low-cost structures built in water to replace older screwpile designs, serving primarily in New England and Mid-Atlantic bays

The longest lens I had with me that morning was my tamron 28-75MM lens, I plan to go back there sometime with a longer lens to get closer shots of it
