Recently I went to the largest Buddhist temple in the world Bodabudur temple. I'm not Buddhist but I had to smile at some of the teachings the guide told me on the tour. One was this :
Dhammapada (verse 50) says: “Let one not seek the faults of others, nor what others have done or left undone. But let one see one's own acts, done and undone.”
It is so easy to look at others and cast blame. The problem is that it doesn't lead to self reflection and trying to find answers on a path forward.
Sure, governments and society can really screw over the people. Guess what? Nothing new there, it has been happening for as long as there have been governments. As you said the unsuccessful feel entitled and think "The government should make me successful" but the successful people think "How can I work around the system to make a path forward for myself".
In the same way you can be lost in a forest and think "This forest will kill me" which accomplishes absolutely nothing. Or you can think "This forest presents an obstacle, how do I use it to my advantage or at least not let it defeat me". Only one of those viewpoints is useful.
Thanks for writing,
Good job.
