‎Ignore the Dutch at Your Own Risk: Netherlands Run Riot Against Sweden ‎

in Sportsblock11 days ago

‎After their frustrating draw against Japan in the opening game, the Netherlands came into this match knowing they needed a strong response. And they certainly delivered one, putting five goals past Sweden in a performance that reminded everyone why the Dutch can never be overlooked at a World Cup.

‎From the first whistle, the Netherlands looked hungry and determined. Brian Brobbey, who was given a surprise starting opportunity, made the most of it. The striker scored twice in the first half and was a constant headache for the Swedish defenders. His movement inside the box and willingness to battle for every ball gave the Dutch attack a completely different edge.

‎What impressed me most was how clinical the Netherlands were whenever they got into dangerous areas. They didn't create countless chances, but they made them count when opportunities came. By halftime, Sweden already had a mountain to climb.

‎The second half belonged to Cody Gakpo. The Liverpool forward showed exactly why he is one of the most important players in this Dutch team. He scored two well-taken goals in quick succession and effectively ended any hopes Sweden had of getting back into the contest.

‎To be fair to Sweden, they never stopped trying. Anthony Elanga managed to pull one back after a good attacking move, giving the Swedish fans something to cheer about. However, the goal only proved to be a consolation as the Netherlands continued to control the game.

‎Substitute Crysencio Summerville added a fifth goal near the end, putting the finishing touch on what was a dominant Dutch display.

‎Watching this game made me wonder why the Netherlands are rarely mentioned among the leading contenders for the trophy. Whenever people discuss potential winners, the conversation usually focuses on Brazil, Argentina, France, Spain, or England. The Dutch often seem to be forgotten.

‎Yet this is a team packed with quality players, experience, and attacking talent. They also have a strong history in major tournaments and know what it takes to handle the pressure of the World Cup.

‎Of course, one big win doesn't guarantee success, and tougher challenges lie ahead. But if the Netherlands continue to play with this level of confidence and attacking intent, they could become one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament.

‎For now, they have sent a clear message to the rest of the competition: ignore the Netherlands at your own risk.
