The Hard Lesson I Learned About Online Scammers

‎Hi Hive,

‎It is another beautiful week and it's with great pleasure to welcome everyone to my blog today.

‎When I first joined Hive, I was honestly too excited. Everything about the platform looked new and full of opportunities. I wanted to grow fast, meet people and understand how everything worked. Because of that excitement, I made some mistakes that almost cost me dearly during my first three months on the Hive.

‎Back then, I used to click on almost every link people dropped for me. Some would say it was a way to grow your account faster, while others promised rewards or special opportunities. Since I was still new to the online space, I didn’t actually know how dangerous some of those links could be.

‎I can still remember one particular moment when I realized not everybody online means well. I clicked on a link that looked very genuine at first. Everything about it appeared normal, so I didn’t suspect anything. It was later I discovered it was most likely a scam attempt. And before I knew it, my account is taken over, and the scammer packed all the hive and hbd I have worked hard for. That experience really shook and weigh me down but I don't let it stopped me.

‎And thanks to amazing people on hive, someone like @flaxz who introduced me to someone that later help me regain my account.

‎Since that day, I changed the way I approach things online.

‎Now, I no longer rush into clicking links just because someone shared them with me. I take my time to research properly before joining anything. I check if people are talking positively about it, ask questions from trusted users and sometimes even completely ignore it if it feels suspicious. I have learned that being careful online is far better than regretting later.

‎One thing scammers understand very well is human emotion. They know people like instant results, easy money and fast growth. That is why many scam messages usually sound tempting. But over time, I discovered that it is better to double-check it first if something sounds too perfect online.

‎These days, I tread carefully on the internet because not everybody is really trying to help you. Some people are simply looking for who will make one careless mistake.

‎The internet is a beautiful place with many opportunities, but it also requires wisdom. For me, one of the biggest lessons Hive taught me early was this: never stop doing your own research before trusting any link online.
