My mind is still blown by how quickly the Hermes Agent and its incredible agentic-AI framework has burst onto the scene, and how astoundingly quickly it's been growing and developing in the few months since its release on February 26 of this year. Its GitHub repository has already surpassed 163.1k stars, with presently 1,172 individual developers now contributing to this extraordinary project by Nous Research. People see the mind-blowing actuality and potential of Hermes, and they're focusing their efforts to make it even better. It's for this reason, and the fact that swarms of Hermes Agents are also working on and contributing to the code, that the update cycles are very, very rapid, often with hundreds of new commits each day, which are available immediately after a simple and quick local Hermes update.
The sheer number of tweets and articles about Hermes on X, and in multiple languages, is truly amazing to behold. There's a huge amount of excitement around Hermes in the FOSS (Free and Open-Source Software) and agentic-AI communities, which from my perspective is very much warranted, as it's seriously badass.
On X yesterday I came across, and I very much enjoyed, an excellent YouTube video about Hermes, the most interesting part of which was the interview with one of the creators of Hermes Agent. In it he said that Hermes actually existed as a private tool that he and his group of AI-LLM developers and builders were using in their own collaborative workflows. When OpenClaw came onto the scene, he said that they tried it, and that compared to what they had already created and had functioning in Hermes, OpenClaw seemed quite a bit 'clunkier', so they made the decision to release Hermes to the world, and for free. That's doubly badass.
What I've also found very interesting in the time that I've been working with Hermes, is that many of the add-on tools, plugins, and capabilities that people in the community are creating to add greater functionality to Hermes, are being integrated natively into Hermes and its framework. The Nous Research team is very much appreciating, and making use of community contributions, which is excellent to the max.
Someone in the community also created a native Android app for Hermes, which allows people to connect to cloud models, to local models within the same network, and most surpringly, to even use LLM models that are designed to work on mobile phones. So you could run a completely-local LLM-Hermes agentic-AI setup on your Android phone if you felt so inclined. Absolute incredible. Hermes Agent and its framework is the most fascinating and mind-blowing FOSS meta-tool that I've ever found.
Yesterday, Thursday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, by just before 2:45PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts first, and then to a few small jungle-community tasks. With those completed, and after a quick break up at the Flow House, I worked with Ano and Alex to finish unloading and distributing the rest of the cinder that was left in Ano's truck from the day before. Once we finally wrapped that up for the day, I took a shower, made myself some food in Wabisabi, collected my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and then I headed back to the Flow House to begin my evening Hive tasks, to work with Hermes a bit more. I got through all of my notifications quite early, by around 9PM, and after some more agentic-AI research, I went to bed much earlier than I have lately, by just about 10PM. Unfortunately I woke up by around 2:30AM, and unable to sleep, I figured out how to enable subnet routine for my Tailscale mesh-VPN network, before making another attempt at sleep. I woke up again around 7AM, still feeling that I needed a bit more sleep, going to prepare my superfood fire coffee in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House to work with Hermes some more, and to write this post. It's now just after 12:45PM, so it's a very good time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before preparing for a session that's scheduled for 1:30PM. 2026 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
