Oh, that's interesting, and good to know. I could also use my V4V address in Nostr I think. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

While you technically can use your v4v address as your #Nostr Lightning Wallet address, it's hard to make sure if the Nostr people interested in zapping your post or comment there have a Lightning Wallet that can directly send you zaps. πŸ€”πŸ€― That's because Bitcoin Lightning requires a path from sender to recipient comprised of Lightning nodes directly connected to each other. πŸ€―πŸ€“

Hrmmm...well, the Alby wallet, that is recommended on their site as an alternative, creates its own lightning node, and it has its own lightning address too. Basically it's just annoying to have to jump through hoops just to be able to receive funds. Hive is soooo much better in that regard. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

Nevertheless, once a #Nostr app user has a Lightning Wallet properly set up, then they can receive zaps instantly (no 7-day waiting period) and can withdraw or zap with them anytime. πŸ€”πŸ˜ŽπŸ€“πŸ˜…

That's great, and I'd love to be able to get it to work. I wish the payments could be sent directly to my Hive wallet. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I haven't studied yet if the v4v Lightning Wallet can be directly used to receive #Nostr zaps. πŸ€”πŸ€― I think that the best way to determine it is to test it by either asking a friend on Nostr to send you a small amount of zap (where you can ask people on Hive that have a Nostr account such as @crrdlx who you can pay back with HIVE or other tokens) or create another Nostr account with a Lightning Wallet already set up (difficult, but you can do this without the help of anyone). πŸ€―πŸ€―πŸ€“

Anyway, many Nostr apps supports NWC (Nostr Wallet Connect) which is just a protocol that helps connect Nostr apps with Lightning Wallets. πŸ€”πŸ€“ This website would likely help you easily. 😎😏

I'm not sure I entirely understand what's being asked here, but I think you're wondering if someone on nostr can zap to the v4v wallet. My understanding is this:
-no, zaps are simply sats between two wallets that are linked to a nostr client. The zap just handles the send/receive under the table. Someone on nostr couldn't do that to Hive; there's no zap button on Hive.
-I thought you could send "keepsats" from any lightning network wallet to v4v (not sure what keepsats are exactly, my guess is sats held in escrow by 4v4). But, my test failed using coinos.io and cashu.me to savvytester@sats.4v4.app It seemed to pick up you and your avatar, but just kept spinning when I hit send. Maybe the QR code would work (though I'm not sure they are persistent). Share your v4v QR and I'll try again that way.

@savvytester wants to know if a V4V wallet can be used as the Lightning Wallet for receiving #Nostr zaps, so that they can help assist @tydynrain in properly setting up an LN wallet for Nostr to start receiving zaps there. 🀯

I think that technically, someone could implement "zap on Hive" for tipping Bitcoin Lightning anywhere (particularly on posts and comments) by creating an app for it (either as a standalone app, or building on top of other platforms such as V4V). πŸ€“

Anyway, I wonder what would happen if you tried to send sats tosavvytester@v4v.app instead of savvytester@sats.4v4.app (if you haven't already). πŸ˜…

If it works, the @sats.v4v.app keeps the sats in the V4V wallet, while the @v4v.app sends them directly to your Hive wallet. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I think that the reason why your "zap" from #Nostr to @savvytester's V4V wallet failed is because the minimum invoice for the V4V Lightning payments is 250 sats according to an official post . 🀯 While paying an invoice is different from directly sending sats, we could assume that the V4V lightning node has also set the minimum of incoming sats as 250 too. πŸ€“ Perhaps @tydynrain is also interested in this fact! 😎 !HOPE !INDEED !WEIRD !PIZZA !ALIVE

That is good to know indeed. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I have never got V4V wallet to work for Zaps, I do not think it is correctly setup with Nostr Wallet Connect that you usually put into your favorite Nostr App.

I can recommend: https://rizful.com/

They run some large channels and setup with Nostr Wallect Connect is fast and easy.

Hrmmm...OK. If I don't know that it works, I'm not going to ask anyone to waste, and I don't want to waste, sats just to test it. I appreciate the links, those will be very useful. I've got a bit of reading to do it would seem. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™

I don't think that sats (except the transaction fee which is usually just 1 satoshi) will get "wasted", because if such sats don't get succesfully sent to a target wallet, then it should remain at (or go back quickly to) the sender's wallet. πŸ€”πŸ€―πŸ€“πŸ˜…

OK, that's good to know. I'm just used to horror stories of people losing large amounts of crypto assets by sending them to an incorrect address. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’šβœ¨πŸ€™
