Actually it was very nice, because it was high desert and we had over 300 days a year of beautiful sunshine!!π
Our house had a glass southern exposure window 18 feet tall and we only build a fire in the evening when the sun went down!
It's beautiful country, but it's tourist country, like Hawaii .....very difficult for our kids to grow up and find a job that paid more than McDonald's!!π

I think about that every time we visit our son that lives down close to Seattle.....π
So many people living on top of each other, I couldn't do it!!π³
