The church of God is guided by the doctrines which Jesus Christ left for us. We must understand that pilgrimage is for us to know that we are just passing by through this world. This world is not our home for those of us who are the disciples of Jesus Christ. We are waiting for the return of our Lord. He went away and He promised us that He is coming back for us. We are not living like those who have no such hopes. One of these days, we shall see the Lord return. We shall hear the trumpet of the Lord and the saints shall be gathered to meet the Lord in the air. Understanding this makes us to obediently follow the doctrines of the church which Jesus Christ established.
Baptism was instructed by our Master. He said that everyone who believes in the teachings should be baptized. We cannot deny what the Master teach and still claim to be His disciples. True disciples obey their master in all things. The Lord Jesus Christ said that those who believe in Him should be taught to observe all things whatsoever he had instructed us. As a believer in Jesus Christ, be sure that you have received baptism.
There is no need arguing about baptism. There is no way we can please God in all things if we rejects the teachings that we are taught. Baptism is one of the core doctrines of the church. We will do well to accept baptism as the believers in Jesus Christ.
