Another thing worthy to note about personal Development P.D is that once you embark on it, your vision becomes clearer. You won't just follow the professionals in the profession, but you'll be a professional who can solve (at least) a problem in the society.
It is the difference and uniqueness you possess!
What are the benefits of P.D?
*Personally developing yourself keeps you Self-motivated. In this case you're not motivated by the rhymes of motivational speeches from motivational speakers, but by the rhythms of "Growth" playing in your mind.
My pastor once said "Your mind is the Central Processing Unit of your Life" - The growth you so desire, can only be manifested if, and only if your mind has been transformed to think, analyse and process Growth!
P.D also keeps you Focused on your journey (Mission), and your destination (Vision).
How then, do you develop yourself?
I'll say start from what you have!
You may not just know - the little you have may just be enough!. Haven't you heard of the woman in the Bible that had little oil, but from her little, God filled all her jars to the brim? - Abundance!
I say this because most classes (online, and offline) are expensive, but at the primary stage, you can afford books of 2500, 3,000, etc. If you still can't afford hard copies, you could have access their soft copies with your smart phone.
Away from the world of books, you could also attend seminars and conferences within and outside your vicinity - all thanks to Globalisation and it's derivatives, and yes! YouTube - you can watch videos to learn.
Personal development is a gift, so expensive! but cannot be bought, - just like a potter, you would have to ( by yourself), and with your hand, mix your clay, mold it to the shape you desire, design it, brand it, and put a price tag on it.
In your secret place, brand yourself!
"What you do in the secret are the things you give out" You can't give out what you don't have!
At the start of the year, almost everyone writes resolutions, but the question is, "How do you plan to attain them? How will you feel when, by the end of the year, you did not meet up with 20% of your goals?
Unfulfilled! That's the word that describes the feel!
Its February, the year is still fresh, how about you create productive systems that would actually bring those dreams to life?
Another mistake many people make is that they fail to look at their goals daily! When a Doctor prescribes drugs for you, he specifies when to take each dose or dosages - Morning, Afternoon, and Night. You follow the routine, right?
In that same way, you also need to create a routine for your goals. Even Jesus Christ, created a routine to attain His goals - He prayed consistently.
✓You have to consistently review your goals daily!
Each day has 3 segments:
Morning,
Afternoon, and
Night.
The morning hours determines the rest of your day - You need to create the strategies during this hours. It first begin from identifying what you want to achieve for that day, then 'how' follows suite.
The Afternoon hours are for implementation. You don't just leave the strategies hanging. You need to implement them by taking charge if your time. Many people identify what they want to do and where they want to go in a day, but by the end of the day, "There was no time" becomes the epilogue. This is because they didn't take charge of their time. Goals are Time-bound, know when to begin each task for the day, and know when to move to the other.
The Evening hours are for reflection. Growth is you bring better than you were yesterday- you cannot be better when you don't know who you were yesterday. Therefore you need to reflect on "how did I do this?" "What didn't I do right!", "Oh! I think I spent too much time washing clothes, that's why I couldn't meet up with the other tasks!".
Learning from your mistakes makes you a better person by the dawn of the new day.
