Sunday morning run

We've had another tough and eventful week.

We received the test results last week. Unfortunately, metastases were found in the lymph nodes. Tomorrow she will undergo a laparoscopy to determine if there are also metastases in the peritoneum. Terrifying; the

examination tomorrow will determine the outlook my wife has on potentially overcoming this nightmare.

I do try to keep standing myself, but it is just too much. My Sunday morning run is a source of stability. Despite it gets a bit harder now with one run a week for 3 weeks, I can still mentally commit to any distance - which also feels good to actively remind myself to keep fighting.

While the run was going ok, I was also fighting my emotions during the run. But I guess that is ok, so I can come back home refreshed.

I took a route from my home to the area that I use for hill repeats and made a large loop back home. I took 500ml of water with electrolytes and an energy gel with me and was able to finish the run without any issues.

For next weeks I will try to be a little more stable by adding at least one shorter run in the mix in order to avoid injuries if my sundays stay around this distance.

So sorry to hear about the latest news about your wife. I pray the examination goes as well as it can and that she has a fighting chance to beat it!

Sometimes I find a run helps clear my mind and help focus on the important things.

Emotionally bad running is a war between thoughts and sometimes a racing heart that can end up in arrhythmia, I've experienced running with anxiety is a challenge.

You had a great run my friend, and it's good to get out and help clear the mind. Fighting the emotions is a normal thing and even more so when you're alone. I'm glad the run felt good, it's good for your mind and body.

I hope the metastasis isn't too widespread in the peritoneum, so tomorrow is going to be a nerve racking day for you and your wife. Hang in there and let me know how things go tomorrow!

Thank you! Yeah hopefully we get some good news on the same day - maybe visible results, the biopts will probably take a little longer. As long as it ends up ok. 🙏
