RE: Clap Clap.

in Weekend Experiences5 days ago

I spent much of my life being angry. Maybe I was right. Maybe the anger was justified. Still, it was bad for me. It bled over into other things. It's hard to wall off anger. Not only that, the person I was angry with wasn't affected. It didn't interfere with his day. He went about his life. I was the one with a burden, the burden of anger.

Nowadays if I feel anger toward something or someone--like the cat when he flipped the pizza box and spilled meatballs and sauce all over my rug--I won't stay there. Of course it's easy to forgive the cat. He's stupid and just hungry. Harder to let it go with people. But we have to, because anger eats us up.

Anyway, words from someone who has lived a very long time and hopes she has learned something useful from all those years :)

I wish you peace.

That's exactly how I see it. And I'm getting there, step by step. It's not easy to implement those ideas. They're logically sound, but emotions are a different reality than logic.

It's still a work in progress for me, but at least I recognize the problem :)
