Clap Clap.

I woke up a little angry today. A mix of disappointment and fulfilled foreboding. I don't snap when I'm angry, not anymore, most of the time I just retract and try to get live the feeling, and then get my thoughts and feelings in order, view from other perspectives, the whole playbook of being the one who has to find their solutions.

But it makes me feel alone. People saying they know what they want, without really knowing. Pretending to make a step forward, and when you make a step towards them, too, they suddenly make two steps back and there you are. Step already made. Do you take the next step? Yet again towards them? I mean, you're already there, right? What's one more step?

That's how you lose yourself.

Being too forthcoming, trying to change myself towards the needs of my ex-wife, has ruined that relationship. Partially, there were many other factors involved. That's when I learned to be aware of that, in any relationship, be it family, love, friends, business. Be vigilant of those who say they're compromising, but aren't really.

A bump on the road. Nothing too serious. Just annoying. Not was I was hoping for, but what I feared, so correct, it's not coming out of the blue. Giving the benefit of a doubt doesn't always work out, shocker. I could say now that it gives me another problem to solve, something to distract me from the incompetence of the Ecuadorian legal system in upholding children's rights, but I'm not sure if I can take it like that today. It feels like just another blow to the stomach.

Good thing - I'm invited on a party today, by friends of mine. They're 10 years in Ecuador now, plus it was both their birthdays in July. Danny is doing the catering, so that will be awesome. And my friend, a great guitarist who does the most amazing solos, said there will be enough beverages for an armada of sailors. And if that wasn't enough, his friend circle is pretty funny, being able to mock and get mocked and just laugh all day long. So, that I'm looking forward to.

I spent much of my life being angry. Maybe I was right. Maybe the anger was justified. Still, it was bad for me. It bled over into other things. It's hard to wall off anger. Not only that, the person I was angry with wasn't affected. It didn't interfere with his day. He went about his life. I was the one with a burden, the burden of anger.

Nowadays if I feel anger toward something or someone--like the cat when he flipped the pizza box and spilled meatballs and sauce all over my rug--I won't stay there. Of course it's easy to forgive the cat. He's stupid and just hungry. Harder to let it go with people. But we have to, because anger eats us up.

Anyway, words from someone who has lived a very long time and hopes she has learned something useful from all those years :)

I wish you peace.

That's exactly how I see it. And I'm getting there, step by step. It's not easy to implement those ideas. They're logically sound, but emotions are a different reality than logic.

It's still a work in progress for me, but at least I recognize the problem :)

Good selection, the great Eric Clapton. Unfortunately, there are people like that—who seem to open up their world and their hearts to you, but in reality, they don't. They keep you out. And in the end, you don't really know them. I know that feeling. Happy weekend @beelzael

It's frustrating to know that beforehand oneself, and the other person strictly ignoring it. A "I told you so doesn't" work either :-D Everyone at their own pace.

Liking the tunes my friend.

Sorry to hear you were having a shit day, but you seem to have great perspective and maturity.

How was the party in the end? Sounded like it was going to be great craic 👍🏻

It was a lot of fun! Thanks for asking :-)

And yes, Clapton is a favorite of mine. Lots of albums to choose from.

A party with friends andusic seems the best antidote to any woes you might have. And laughter of course X

It was a great afternoon and evening! Worthy a post - tried mushrooms for the first time.

The vibe of the selections of your music is kinda groovy, I mean with its beat and everything. But the content is kinda sad but theres a "good thing" at the end so...i hope you enjoy the part? ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)ᕤ( /^ω^)/♪♪

Eric Clapton is one of my favorites. And yes,the day ended very special.

The clap-clap shot has a lovely candid energy to it, like the moment just happened without anyone performing for the camera, and that spontaneity is what makes it work.
