How much do you love yourself?

An image generated with AI
As human we tend to focus on others, neglecting our own needs and emotions. But how can we love someone if we don't even love ourselves? Lately this has been recurring in my thoughts, so I wanted to take a moment to share.
I was previously lacking in the self-love department. I would berate myself when I made mistakes, dwell on my shortcomings and compare myself unfavorably to other people. I woke one day and realized I was disregarding the most important person in my life-the only person I can truly 100% count on to be there which is Me.
So, I began to work on loving myself and do you know it's really has been a game changer for me and a whole lot of discovery of who I truly is.
I sat down and asked myself, " What's really happening and where is the truth? Do I love or hate myself?"; it was hard to think about it, but I was truthful; I owed up to my faults and set to know who I am and what I have.
Self-care is very important but very often being ignored. We don't tend to emphasize enough on our needs. If I don't care well for my own self, I won't be able to care for others. I just need to keep telling myself that I am valuable and I matter. I am a child of God and I have a divine purpose.
This has helped me to love and respect myself and who I am, not just what I look like or what people think about me. I have learned to take care of myself; go for a work out, eat well and get rest and sleep. It's not about perfection, just progress.
Your attitude is the greatest gift you can give yourself. I have learned to forgive and forget, dwell on the positives, and let the negative go. Loving yourself takes effort, patience, and dedication. It's difficult, and you'll fail at times; that's okay too.
You are deserving of respect and love for yourself. Be thankful and happy of what and who you are becoming. Take a bow for yourself and never be ashame of yourself. Believe in your decision that is the best for you and your family.
It's ultimately your life. Live it for yourself and don't give it away to another person or something else to care about. So, I'm wondering: how much do you love yourself? Are you giving yourself the love and care you need? Let's make it a resolution to love ourself starting today. What are you going to do today to love yourself?
