Today was such a busy day that I had to decide between taking a walk and writing a post on my main account. I opted for the walk. It was necessary, and although I have some good ideas for posts, I needed to vent my brain. I spent the morning at Nuevo Sol, translating the quality control training and then working on a manual as to administrative responsibilities.

On my way back I stopped at the veterinary clinic to see how Nero was doing. Not great. He seems either super exhausted or depressed, doesn’t want to eat, didn’t even turn around when I petted him. But he did wag is tail a little and stretched his legs as if he was comfortable. The doctors are still worried. As am I. But I’ll have to wait a little. The good thing is that I got enough donations from my community to cover most of the bills, which takes the financial pressure out of the picture and lets me focus on what’s best for the little guy. He’s on all kinds of treatments, and hopefully in the next two days we’ll see some progress. It's a tough situation, and seeing Nero like this makes me cry a lot. I was prepared for all the distress from the Lily situation. But Nero eating poison? That was one drop too much. Gates are open, flood it is.

I was barely able to eat lunch after coming home when the metalworker and my main baker called me to ask a lot of questions that didn’t really make sense to reply on the phone, so I went over to the bakery, and we figured it all out. New molds for hamburger buns are on the way, so are two experimental containers for the dough to rise. Since it’s low-ish season, we use the time to make experiments and offer new products and/or different sizes, and just try to identify where it makes sense to re-invest the cashflow.

After that, it was already 5pm. So, walk or write? Walk it was. Thinking. Letting nature do its magic. Take a look for pictures, but the light wasn’t really that good, so I’m not that content with them. And then, a 2h meeting with the Nuevo Sol team, discussing how to move forward. There are so many fronts to battle on, and we’re barely making progress one the most important ones. But we’re getting close to passing some milestones. In business, setting the base is not only the most important, but also the most difficult part. As soon that is done, and it’s solid, the building on top of it is a lot easier. So, we have to get through these re-adjustments of basics to have a solid construction of the company.

It’s fun to work there. I enjoy it and really hope that my consultation will bear fruits for them. Now it’s time to read to Lily, well, to a message box on whose other side hopefully is Lily listening, and Duolingo, and sleep. Tomorrow is going to be stressful, too.
Have a good night and thank you for reading!
