I want to become a beekeeper!
It is interesting to talk about rare types of honey, but even the cheapest sunflower honey deserves due respect.
It is this honey harvest from the second half of July to mid-August that all beekeepers are waiting for and are preparing for this honey harvest.
Usually sunflower gives a lot of nectar, but there are exceptions, like this year, beekeepers complain that they received only 10% of the planned honey harvest due to droughts and sunflower crop failure.
During drought, sunflower flowers stop secreting nectar and, oddly enough, rain is very useful for bees, or rather, the days after rain.
Sunflower honey, although it crystallizes quite quickly, is quite suitable as food for bees in winter, but when sugar is cheaper than honey at wholesale prices, beekeepers usually prefer to feed the bees with sugar syrup.
After collecting sunflower honey, bee colonies weaken and it is time to form a nest for wintering.
This is the time to try to get rid of the varora mite, which bothers bees and the time to prevent other diseases.
Personally, I was not delighted with sunflower honey until I tried creamed honey, it was great and I think that when I manage to set up an apiary, I will definitely get a creaming unit.

When I visited dense forests, I did not see ideal conditions for bees there, but many beekeepers harvest beekeeping products in such places.
