Today was one of those days that felt like a deep inhale before the exhale, the kind of quiet that comes just before life slams the “play” button again. Tomorrow means back to school, back to work, back to routine. Which, let’s be honest, feels like walking into a storm without an umbrella.
So, I did what made the most sense: I went for a long walk by the forest lake. The skies were dramatic, heavy with clouds that looked like they were debating whether to break into rain or just keep the suspense going. The water mirrored that same mood, calm, but restless underneath. Every step along the trail felt like hitting “reset.”
There’s something about walking through nature on a grey day. The colors are more muted, the air feels sharper, and your mind gets oddly clearer. It’s like the landscape itself is saying: “Yeah, things are about to get busy again, but you’ve got this.”
Did I come back with life-changing insights? Not really. Did I come back with muddy shoes and a calmer brain? Absolutely. Sometimes that’s more than enough.
Tomorrow will be hectic. But today? Today was mine. And that’s worth more than a little.
