I was pleasantly surprised to have very strong legs this morning for 5+ mostly uphill trail miles around the hills.
I started off at the neighboring Blowout Trail start a short distance from home and proceeded at a strong clip up the winding trail to join up with the arid and rocky trail system.
Here I could run various different sections of a network of trails that cover quite a bit of miles and even climb high into the hills around the base of Mingus Mountain. My route was on the more mellow sections that weren't so rocky or severe so although my pace slowed it wasn't all too slow.
The last mile was a speedy descent down Mingus Rd and onto the pavement back to home.
Not really that exhausting and it was a nice improvement in my endurance so a good sign.
Another afternoon hike on the Blowout with Lulu as this was her first time on this 2 mile out and back.
Lots of trees and green grass for her the check out and she loved it, although it did slow things down but the tranquil miles were great.
Off to Lynx Creek tomorrow.
