It's been a big change in the weather here in the Black Hills from Arizona as it was freezing overnight with gray overcast skies all day. Even a light bit of snow flurries up in Spearfish Canyon late this afternoon.

It was a long and tedious day of training for our volunteer duties so I didn't have much time to get out. Lulu and I were able to do our mule and a half morning walk The sky looked like it would rain and a cold wind really made it cool. At least Lulu got to chase a squirrel so she was happy.

We enjoyed a couple of miles up in Spearfish Canyon in the afternoon after training undwrdark skies. A few light snow flurries swirled around us as we trekked down to Spearfish Falls on quiet trails (seems no one else wanted to be out).

The trees haven't leaved out as much higher in the canyon so it will be a while before I'll be collecting wild berries and nuts. For now it was a very nice hike despite the frigid weather and it will be nice to get back to running once training days are done.
One more training day tomorrow then half days of volunteer work so I'll be glad to get back to a regular schedule.
