Hill repeats Tempo

I had a spare hour to run in between appointments. As my planned hill session for Wednesday would be making my schedule to tight, I decided to go for the hill work today.

When I got to the hill it started raining quite a bit making me pretty underdressed. Luckely I was wearing a cap so I would not get the rain in my face. I decided to make it a stronger effort than planned. Instead of doing a technical session, I went for some tempo work in the sets, not all out but a considerable faster pace compared to last Sunday.

Doing so felt good, it kept me warm and the tempo got used very quick. After 10 minutes I wasn’t even bothered with the rain anymore.

While I did took nutrition with me, I opted to stick to just drinking some electrolytes and ignore the energy gels for now. The run was short enough to just work through without any issues.

Whereas I normally run with my music on, I decided to run without today - mostly as this is something I also need to train for the Jungfrau Marathon as I will be running alongside a friend - so curious how I will experience that as it felt very easy to just create your own bubble with music , put your game mode on and keep out all distractions. Going to be fun!

Happy Running!

Great job pushing through that rain. Makes since to put in a harder run to keep a bit warmer, and you only had an hour to do it. Nicely done! I guess it will be different running without music along side a friend, so it might be smart to get the brain ready for that change.

Sounds like if you keep this up you should be more than ready for the big day. Hopefully it's not rainy for the marathon, that could make things interesting! Awesome post as always!
