Sometimes you need to take a step back to move forward, right? Well today I needed to re-adjust my plans as I could no longer ignore the irritation I had for last 3 weeks on my left foot. Rather than pushing through for my planned 30km run (and risking a big injury) I decided to head back home and will try to just go for a walk instead.
My run:
I planned to run a big round to different parks in Rotterdam in a decent pace. Basicly right from the start I felt my feet troubling me again. Whereas I earlier assest this as a small irritation I ranked the pain 6/10 today - which means not something to ignore.

The issue:
Pain in the yellow-circled area.

I'll have to check over the next few days whether it's a small fracture in the metatarsal bone or tendon damage.
The reason I missed it with my injury run was because it started before my 50k run.
I had assumed that it was simply the result of having tied my normal shoes too tightly. In the beginning, it felt that way, so I had tied my laces differently to avoid putting strain on it.

During todays run, I noticed not landing on and pushing off correctly - so I decided to make an adjustment. On inspection lifting my big toe causes pain 8/10.
So ill take care of this 🙏👍
My walk:
Won’t stand still :) just changed clothes and decided to just go for a relaxing walk - listening to music and enjoying nature. With the easing lacing there is no pain so it feels good to get a little movement (8km) in this way.
